Description:
This stunning 1958 Chevrolet Corvette, purchased by the current owner in 2021, is a beautifully modified classic that combines vintage style with modern performance. Refurbished and upgraded between 2015 and 2017, this C1 Corvette is finished in a sleek black exterior with a matching soft top and a striking red vinyl interior. Powering this beauty is a powerful 383ci stroker V8 engine paired with a smooth-shifting four-speed manual transmission, ensuring a thrilling driving experience.Significant modifications enhance its performance, including Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, MSD electronic ignition, Borla mufflers, and a distinctive cowl induction hood. It also sits on eye-catching 17? American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, making this Corvette as much a showpiece as a driving machine. The car comes with service records dating from 2011 to the present, car show awards, and a clean Ohio title under the current owner’s name. The bodywork was expertly handled by Johnson Speedshop and Hot Rods of East Canton, Ohio, in 2015, with a sleek black paint job applied by Giovanni Customz in 2016. The chrome accents were also rechromed during the refurbishment, complementing the aftermarket cowl induction hood for an aggressive yet classic look. The Corvette rides on chrome 17×7? front and 17×8? rear American Racing Torq Thrust wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich g-Force Comp-2 tires. The stock X-frame chassis was updated with new suspension components, and a power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering system was added for improved handling. Wilwood four-piston calipers with cross-drilled rotors provide excellent stopping power at all four corners.Inside, the cabin showcases low-back bucket seats upholstered in red vinyl, perfectly matched with the red dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Lap belts are installed for safety, and a retro-style stereo system has been integrated into the center stack, connected to speakers in the kick panels. Black Corvette-branded floor mats add an extra touch of flair to the interior. The driver’s cockpit features a three-spoke steering wheel, a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges, with an aftermarket coolant temperature gauge mounted near the steering column. The five-digit odometer shows just over 53k miles, with 2,000 miles added under current ownership.Under the hood, the 383ci stroker V8 was sourced from Pro Car Associates of Akron, Ohio, and installed by Johnson Speedshop and Hot Rods in 2015. Performance upgrades include dual Edelbrock carburetors, an Endurashine intake manifold, aluminum valve covers, ARP rod bolts and main studs, a COMP camshaft, lifters, and an MSD electronic ignition system. A dyno sheet from August 2015 is available, along with detailed build invoices.Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, with Borla mufflers adding a deep, throaty exhaust note. While the rear axle and suspension remain stock, they were disassembled and refreshed, including the leaf springs, transmission, and rear end. This 1958 Corvette is a rare and desirable blend of classic design and modern performance, making it an excellent choice for collectors and enthusiasts alike. With its extensive upgrades, meticulous care, and stunning appearance, this Corvette is ready to turn heads at car shows or on the open road.A full set of service records, awards, and additional photos are available upon request.Financing available.
