A hybrid battery pack that you can recharge at home or at a public charging station is mounted underneath the rear seats. The EPA estimates that with a fully charged battery you should be able to drive about 21 miles on all-electric power. This Jeep SUV gets 49 MPG-equivalent in combined city/highway driving when running on electric power! After youve depleted the battery, the powertrain switches to normal gasoline-powered hybrid operation. Using a 240-volt household-style power outlet, it takes about 2 hours and 25 minutes to charge the battery. With its odometer now reading 25,364, the engine, transmission and drive axles are STILL COVERED under the balance of the factory powertrain warranty until August 2026 or 60,000 miles (whichever occurs first)!
